DIOS, Death Metal with a particular touch from Barcelona

Formed at the very early stage of the recent yet nearly forgotten pandemic back in March 2020 in Barcelona, the band forges a style mixing the most basic and classic death metal with rather technical and elaborated passages.
The founding fathers being Dan (bass), Jordi (vocals), Carlos (guitar), all of them having previously taken part in Bleeding Darkness, and with the addition of Sergi (drums), the idea of the band's name came up after setting their initials in the above-mentioned order. What had started as an innocent coincidence would end up marking DIOS' official identity and name.



After a long incubation period while combining composing, recording, and rehearsing work, both remotely and in person (Cornellà, Sant Climent, L'Hospitalet), Roger, previously Hands of Fate and Thesauros drummer, took over drums in 2022, which set the band out to its first gig and the release of several singles.



In 2023, Ceras, also in Netón and with a long career in underground bands as well as extreme metal promotion organisations, became the new voice of DIOS.



This new phase meant new recordings, live shows –sharing stage with renowned extreme metal bands such as Empty, Nakkiga, CrystalMoors, and Angoixa–, interviews, and the release of DIOS' first self-produced EP: EXORDIUM, presented in physical format (CD, cassette) as well as on digital platforms on 28th October 2023.



In September 2024, Carles, previously with Bleeding Darkness, took the baton as DIOS' Voice while also spreading His word beyond through English and Catalan.



During the first quarter of 2025, the band resumed concerts with a couple of shows in Barcelona...



... while self-producing and releasing their second EP, Roods From God, presented on CD and digital platforms.

Carles
He started his career as a guitar player, but in his 30's crisis, he decided to move to gutturals. This new phase happened to materialise through Tarragona's death metal band Bleeding Darkness, where other DIOS members had met some years before, following their steps in 2024 by joining DIOS.
Carlos
In the early 2000s, he inherited a Squier Stratocaster (which he still plays and uses to compose today) and a drum kit, leading him to join punk and rock bands such as Los hechos polvo, Screaming Death Clown, Sunshine, Chinatown, and Red Neuron, transitioning through metalcore, deathcore, and death metal with Metaphoric, Days to die, Void Ab Initio, and Bleeding Darkness, ultimately reaching the current peak as the founder and main composer of DIOS.
Roger
He joined DIOS in July 2022, taking charge not only of percussion but also of His online presence on social media. A professional sound engineer and music enthusiast, he also played drums with the deathcore band Hands of Fate (1999-2004) and in the post-metal band Thesauros (2011-2014).
Dan
After starting as a classical guitarist, in 2000s he transitioned to electrification in various local heavy-rock projects. Gradually, he delved into audio mixing and extreme metal, being remarkable his project Odenum, and his live-sound engineering role for Setge and Cultum Mortis, as well as live mixing for bands visiting Barcelona, like Teething, Fossilization or Marthyrium. In his parallel evolution as an instrumentalist, he switched to bass guitar with Koshmar and Bleeding Darkness, where he met Carlos and Jordi, ultimately founding DIOS. He currently takes part in Cultum Mortis as Fra Fatídic de l´Apocalipsi, and mixes local scene concerts.
